01DAY, AIRPORT – COLOMBO

Arrival at Bandaranayaka International airport ,Thereafter they will be introduced to the local tour guide who will be accompanying them around the Island.

Proceed to Colombo,(App 45mts)

Afternoon City tour in Colombo (App 01hrs)

Colombo - a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and Independence Square.

Day 03,SIGIRIYA-MINNERIYA-SIGIRIYA

After breakfast Safari at Yala Minneriya Park by Jeep (Approx 03 hour)

Minneriya is a small town in Sri Lanka, and is famous for two things , for the great Minneriya lake build by King Mahasen and for the Minneriya wildlife sanctuary which is a hot spot for safari lovers because of the abandons of Elephants. Furthermore it is situated near Habarana which have some high class hotels for tourists and some famous world heritage sites like Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya which are relatively close to Minneriya.

Day 05, KANDY-PERADENIYA-PINNWALA-COLOMBO

After breakfast Pick up at 0730hrs and visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peredeniya (Approx 20 mts from the Hotel)

Royal Botanical Gardens - 147 acres in extent: started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the King’s of Kandy. There are more than 5000 species of tree and plants. Some and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice garden and Orchid House are popular with Tourists. (Approx 01hour)

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage - started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded, the orphanage has grown to be a big family today. The number of elephants has increased to more than 40 now, including baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as the babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme. A unique experience never to be missed.(App 01 ½ hours spend) Overnight stay at Colombo

Day 06, COLOMBO-AIRPORT

Transfer to airport to connect the departure flight.

Day 02, COLOMBO-SIGIRIYA

After breakfast visit Sigiriya & climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress(Approx 02 hours to climb up and return)

Sigiriya- is home to the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple-moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour.

Day 04, SIGIRIYA-MATALE-KANDY

After breakfast leave for Kandy en route visiting a Spice Garden in Matale

A spice Garden, Spice Garden at Matale and see the luscious Cinnamons, Cardamoms, Pepper plants etc. You can also purchase your requirements of spices.(Reach Approx 1 – 1 ½ hrs)

Afternoon commence city tour of Kandy

Kandy - the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere. Evening visit The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relics and Cultural dance performance (Approx 01 – 1 ½ hrs spend in Temple)

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession. (Approx 01hour)
